WiC and GITIT Partner Up for WOTC Event in Napa Valley, CA

Apr 25, 2017

Women in Channel’s Outreach Committee program “GITIT” (Girls in Telecom and IT) is dedicated to the continued education of young women ranging from Elementary School to College to assist with career tracks, resume building, curriculum, and other IT/Tech promotions.

WiC is proud to be part of the WOTC event at the Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, CA on May 16th from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  The WOTC workshop is designed to identify opportunities in the technology industry and inspire young women to pursue not only technical jobs, but also roles in sales, marketing, customer support, IT services, and partner management.

WiC will be presenting from 10:15am – 12:15pm. The goal of this presentation is to bring about reflection, broaden horizons, and help young women think outside of the technology box. Questions, concerns, and personal testimonies from attendees are encouraged during the event.  WiC will provide a short workbook to its attendees to serve as a guide in their journey of self-discovery.

The GITIT program challenges women of all ages to look past the traditional stereotypes surrounding technology while shedding light on its influence in any career. One of the most powerful pieces of the presentation will be at the closing when the presenters, Nacime Karami of Velo Cloud and Hilary Gadda of TPX, ask the attendees to list three other young women who can benefit from this and how they can help empower them. We recognize that confidence and connections are what help women excel in the workforce and that it’s never too soon to start building your personal network.

Envision endless possibilities….GITIT!
