Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Susie Johndrow, Manager of Order Experience at Telarus, was nominated by Emma Tolbert, Order Experience Specialist at Telarus.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Susie is always willing to help, listen, and support others. She is very caring and wants to lift everyone up to be the best version of themselves. She always tries to educate herself and share her knowledge with everyone around her.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
I was only three weeks postpartum when she hired me to be on her team. She had many other applicants but was gracious enough to take a chance on me and hold the position until I could start three weeks later. I also didn’t have any experience in the telecom world, and she has continuously helped me learn the ins and outs of our business. She’s always happy to answer my questions and gives me ample resources for all my questions. She’s an amazing teacher and an even better supporter. She always asks for ways to support us better and make our lives easier. Susie hiring me has given me the option not only to be a woman in the workplace but still be the best mother I can be to my children. She is always very understanding of the time I must use to take care of my family. Susie allows me the flexibility to take care of my children when they are sick or for any appointments they have.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
Susie has brought me into a new world with many more options and opportunities for growth than my previous career path. Taking me under her wing has eased me into the vast world of telecom and opened the door to many possibilities.
