Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Stacey Cole, Senior Director of Partner Marketing at Five9, was nominated by James Southworth, Co-Founder of AI GTM Strategies at Five9.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Over the years, I’ve personally watched Stacey go above and beyond her job requirements by proactively assisting young women to navigate the waters of an industry (software/SaaS) that’s dominated by white men. Additionally, if they’re interested, she always makes herself available as a mentor.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
Stacey’s job description does not include supporting my specific marketing needs. Additionally, our largest company event (thousands of attendees in Vegas, including partners, customers and Five9 employees) just took place. This event takes 12 months to prepare, and she manages all marketing aspects. It’s a massive undertaking and took place recently. I had an urgent need for something that she could help with, but it would require her staying up till 2 am, three nights in a row… while the show was taking place. Not only did she do it for me, but she also pulled it off flawlessly WHILE managing the massive company event. On top of that, she took time out of her day to train me on two internal applications we use. She took time not just to catch me a fish but to teach me how to fish. She’s an absolute rock star.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
By doing what she did, I was able to meet the deadline for a massive deliverable to one of our largest partners, which assisted in closing a large deal. Furthermore, she provided two personal training sessions.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: She leads by example, puts others first and truly cares about people. I’ve started two companies and have been exposed to every type of human being. Most folks consider themselves caring and honest. But at the end of the day, when the money’s on the table, their true colors are revealed. I’ve seen Stacey’s true colors shine as bright as anyone I’ve ever worked with.
