Khali Henderson, Lift a Lady Up – December 2017

It is both an honor and privilege to work alongside Khali Henderson for many reasons; consequently, Khali is our December 2017 ‘Lift a Lady Up’ Nominee. If there was a way to give her an applause for her innumerable efforts, she would certainly receive a unanimous standing ovation, not only from our Newsletter committee, but from every member in the WiC organization.
Khali and I have only been in the same room a handful of times – at the biannual WiCConnect events. Still, I have had the pleasure to work closely with Khali as a team member on the Newsletter Committee for the past two years. Khali has lead the charge, alongside Nancy Ridge and some of our other fundamental team members, with the Newsletter phone calls, follow ups and meetings. I can recall being on the phone with Khali during several late nights and weekends in an effort to hit Newsletter deadlines. In the midst of busy days and travel schedules, Khali always makes time and continuously see things through!
Khali, you may not know how much you affect people around you on a daily basis, but I would personally like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the leadership you have shown within the Newsletter Committee, PR Committee, and to WiC, as an organization. You are the true definition of a mentor and leader. I can only hope to one day achieve these qualities, as you have done through your dedication and time to WiC and your career.
At the end of 2017, Khali will rotate off the Board of Directors for WiC, but will remain a co-chair of the Communication/PR Committee and hopefully a contributing key member of our Newsletter committee. I know I can speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU Khali, not only for your contributions and leadership, but also for being you. As we frequently say, ‘No rest for the WiCked’, right? YOU ARE INCREDIBLE. Thank you.
