Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Marcia Dempster, Senior Director of Channel Sales at Keeper Security, was nominated by Stacey Davis, Senior Manager of Global Channel Marketing at Keeper Security.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Everything Marcia does exemplifies the adage of women supporting women. She is an endless cheerleader for the women in her network and the first to celebrate successes and encourage women to take that chance, go for that promotion, learn that new skill and grow. Marcia happily provides counsel, serves as a mentor to women across the channel and is vocal in her public support of women-led activities, organizations and groups.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
Marcia was instrumental in my move to Keeper Security most recently. Her pre-employment support gave me the encouragement needed to reach out of my comfort zone and take on a global role with a growth-stage organization. Her internal advocacy for me has made my job transition as easy and welcoming as possible.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
Without Marcia’s impact, I would not have my current role and career trajectory. Marcia has been an insistent promotor of women within the channel and incredibly vocal in supporting women in leadership at Keeper. I truly believe that her voice and consistent inclusion of other women within the organization has been instrumental in creating a positive work environment for all of the women on staff. Her leadership and example have served as a roadmap for me to follow as I continue to move forward in my career.
