Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Kristy Thomas, Senior Director of CX Programs at Intelisys, was nominated by Cory Shehan, Senior Director of Supplier Services at Intelisys.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Kristy Thomas cares deeply about the success of those around her, especially women. She is a friend, a mentor and a person of passion and ethics. Kristy ALWAYS makes time to provide career advice and coaching. She pulls other women and me into conversations and provides a great example of what a woman in tech leadership can be.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
It’s hard to pinpoint one specific example, but here are some recent ones.
Kristy has helped coach me over the past few months around pipeline management, sales cycles and solution selling. It’s helped me have more confidence in those aspects of our business which has helped me in my role.
Recently, I had someone on my team leave and I was having a lot of angst and self-doubt over the circumstances. Kristy took the time to listen and helped me refocus on the silver linings and what I love about who I am as a leader. She made a negative experience turn into something that taught me a lot about who I am, what I can (and can’t control) and the person I want to be going forward.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
Before I met Kristy, I guess I had a more limited view of my impact and future career. Kristy has given me more confidence and inspired me to see my future in bigger and brighter ways. I am beyond appreciative of Kristy and all she does for other women and me at Intelisys and in the channel.
