Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.

In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
She is a Coach first and “manager” second. She leads by example while at the same time taking time out to help both the men and women on her team equally. She is a strong, intelligent and compassionate leader that helps her team to believe by believing in us.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
I have only been at Nextiva for seven months, and I have never been a National Partner Manager before yet, she believed in me, coached me and took me under her wing. Last month I was the National Partner Manager for TBI (in under a year). I know that I am a hard worker, and I have what it takes but having a leader like Kathy Flick is what took me there so quickly.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
As a Hispanic woman in the industry, I have often felt looked over, thanked but not promoted for my hard work and underutilized. Kathy believing in me has made me feel so much more confident in myself and my abilities and given me new levels to add to my future goals.

In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Kathy is a great mentor and leader. All the women on her team love and look up to her so much because of how she supports us and always takes a moment to recognize our wins and hard work.
She recently posted: “Leadership is not about you. It’s about the people you serve.” Kathy always makes us feel like she will do anything to help us grow, build our brands, and succeed in our careers.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
Kathy has a way of showing me how things should be done and explaining them in a way that helps me understand how to approach similar situations in the future. I’ve learned so much from her in the eight months I’ve worked for her. She always makes sure to call out my wins.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
So much! I came into this role never having been in it, and she taught me everything I needed to know. I’ve excelled in my position because of her guidance.
