How Kathryn Rose is Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women

Mar 21, 2023

Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.

Kathryn Rose, Founder and CEO at channelWise, was nominated by Debbie Kestin Schildkraut, Founder and President at Kestin Impact Consulting.

In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?

Kathryn embodies this pledge in everything she does. She is a true example of lifting women up. I’ve seen her do it for many women in different stages of their careers on LinkedIn posts, during networking meetings, at conferences and with first-hand experience. She enjoys networking and connecting with people to help them advance their business and career needs.

What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?

I’ve been working since the age of 12 years old. For the first time, I found myself laid off along with many in the IT industry during Q4 2022. Kathryn was one of the first to reach out to support me in various ways. Firstly, at the WOTC event, she got me added to an invitation-only networking dinner. Secondly, she has checked in regularly to see how I’m doing and to give me words of encouragement. Thirdly, she’s invited me onto the channelWise platform to share my expertise and branding. Fourth, she’s shared key in-person and online events with me to ensure they were on my radar – again for networking and to increase the potential for meaningful career connections.

What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?

Anyone who has ever been affected by a layoff knows how it rocks you at the core. It makes you question and doubt yourself and your choices, even if the situation is beyond your control and not an indicator of your skills and capabilities. Kathryn and many others were shocked that I would be part of a layoff. Some people may feel bad, but Kathryn more than empathizes; she acts. She has lifted me up by reaching out right away, checking in periodically, introducing me to new people in the industry and giving me a spot on her platform to share my expertise. She stands out beyond so many others by making time in her hectic schedule to reach out and be a beacon of light. She has helped give me confidence as I pursue the next step in my career journey.
