Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Celeste Labrie, Partner Development Manager at Telarus, was nominated by Rachel Turkus, Vice President of Marketing & Channel Management at CyberReef.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Pledge of women supporting women?
When Celeste and I worked together, she had a completely new position and had to dig deep to work through it. She went from overseeing channel marketing to being in a support role. She did it gracefully and without ego. Celeste was able to pivot, learn and grow. While doing all that, she worked to ensure that I was successful in getting my projects done and helped me in a predominately male company feel supported and cared for.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
It isn’t that there was one big thing that Celeste did to support me. It was those little things she did every day. She would listen and learn but also share her knowledge. It was sending me little inspirational quotes in text messages. It was making sure that I had the info I needed to make decisions. It was coming to meetings dressed as a reindeer to keep the mood light. She brings positivity, kindness and support to any situation. Being a female leader has challenges that are difficult to articulate and having Celeste on your team simply makes it better.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
Celeste helped give me the confidence as a leader to reach beyond where I was. She cheered me on as I looked for a company and a position where I was comfortable as a leader. She also has been a champion of mine when people ask. If I had the opportunity to work with her again, I would go in a heartbeat.
