Women in the Channel President and Cofounder Nancy Ridge is scheduled to speak on “A Women’s Guide to Successful Negotiating” at an event hosted by Women in the Fastener Industry (WIFI) at 5 pm, August 26, in Santa Fe Springs, California. Please find the event invitation below.
WIFI is a a non-profit organization that provides mentoring, networking and educational opportunities for women employed in the industrial fastener industry. A brief background on this industry: Hundreds of billions of industrial fasteners— including bolts, screws, washers, rivets, etc.—are used in the United States. The U.S. fastener projected industry is about $11 – 12 B right now, and some of the higher areas of growth include automotive and aerospace segments.
We are excited to connect and collaborate with this organization. WIFI’s mission to support women in this technical field aligns with Women in the Channel’s in telecom. This is their first event in Southern California, and they couldn’t have picked a better speaker on successful negotiation strategies for women (we think!)
This comes at a good time. Women in the Channel is in the midst of strengthening our Outreach Committee and programs. This committee aims to link up with other organizations—nonprofit, enterprise, and educational— to collaborate in supporting women in STEM fields. We want to spread the word to women on how to enter and thrive in innovative fields such as telecommunications.
