Alliance of Channel Women is highlighting women who are Living the ACW Pledge: Women Supporting Women. We’re seeking nominations from the channel community for women – from the mailroom to the boardroom – who embody the oath in their words and actions.
Sharon Andrus, Retired Channel Director at Telstra, was nominated by a colleague.
In what way(s) is your nominee an example of Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge of women supporting women?
Sharon is the most amazing, inspiring and kindhearted woman. She is always looking to prop other women up. She always sponsors our local ACW events, donates to every charity we are raising goods or funds for, shows up for others and takes extra time to ensure the women around her are recognized for their accomplishments.
What is a specific example of what she did for you and when it happened?
She set me up with a meeting with her CEO at Channel Partners because she wanted to make sure I got exposure and recognition in front of him from a large deal I sold. This meant so much to me; it was such a great meeting. It’s all about connections in our world, and she understands the value of relationships and helping women network and learn from one another and beyond.
What impact did her action have on you and/or your career?
Sharon is retiring after 30+ years in our industry, and she deserves to be recognized and go out with a bang! I will miss her in our day-to-day so much, and I wish her a very happy retirement. It’s incredible to be a woman in the channel for over 30 years, and her stories of perseverance and success are inspiring. She has taught me that hard work, a positive attitude and an extreme focus on helping others earns you so much respect and is the key to earning and maintaining strong, high-level relationships.
