LAGUNA HILLS, California, and PHOENIX, Arizona – Jan 6, 2016Cloud Girls, a not-for-profit consortium of women evangelizing the cloud, has teamed with Women in the Channel (WiC), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of female channel leaders in technology, and Channel Partners, the leading resource for the telecom and IT channel community, to present the inaugural Cloud Girl Rising: A Woman to Watch Award on March 16 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. The deadline for applications has been extended through Jan. 15, 2016.

The Cloud Girl Rising: A Woman to Watch Award will be given to one woman who has demonstrated innovation, solution-orientation and thought leadership in the cloud space in 2015. This woman is moving the cloud conversation forward. She goes above and beyond every day to make a significant and lasting impact on her company, her clients and her professional community.

“The Cloud Girl Rising award was created to inspire more thought leadership and forward movement by women involved in cloud,” said Jo Peterson, founder of Cloud Girls and vice president of converged cloud and data services at Clarify360, a Teleproviders Company. “We want to honor a woman who has made a difference in the space while encouraging more women to step forward and join the conversation.”

Women eligible for this award are in sales, marketing or engineering roles at a channel partner organization – agent, VAR or MSP.  To apply, visit www.channelpartnersonline.com/general/cloud-girls.aspx. All applications must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2016. Applications will be reviewed and scored by board members of Cloud Girls and Women in the Channel.

“Women in the Channel is pleased to be a part of this initiative to recognize a female channel leader who is breaking new ground in migrating business customers to cloud solutions,” said WiC Co-president Hilary Gadda, director of channels for TelePacific. “This award program supports WiC’s goal to elevate and inspire women. The winner will be, as advertised, ‘a woman to watch’ and a worthy example for up-and-coming women in the technology channel.”

The winner will receive a trophy, which will be presented on the expo stage at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, along with announcements on the Channel Partners’ and Cloud Girls’ websites, an award logo for her website and email signature, and a one-year complimentary membership in Cloud Girls.

“We’re excited to host this awards ceremony,” said Lorna Garey, editor-in-chief of Channel Partners. “Cloud equals new opportunities and new ways of delivering technology that align well with the strengths women bring to the table – encouraging collaboration, solving problems creatively, embracing change and breaking down walls. In my tenure with Channel Partners, I’ve met a number of amazing women, and we’re committed to giving them a voice in the partner community.”

About Women in the Channel (WiC)
Established in 2010, Women in the Channel’s mission is collaboration through Identity and Relationships to grow business.  WiC is a grassroots organization made up of women who are in leadership, ownership and revenue generating roles in the alternate sales channel sector of the telecommunications industry. Month after month, these women are responsible for generating sales for their companies and creating wealth for their families.  WiC members are wives and mothers and sisters, and a high percentage of us are the main breadwinners in our families. WiC brings together this group because in an industry that is growing, expanding and changing the number of women at such levels is not matching that growth.   To learn more and to become a member, please visit www.womeninthechannel.com
